INSIDE OUT

Somatic Practices for the Body, Mind & Spirit

“Soma” means “body,” and “somatics,” “somatic practices,” and “somatic therapies” are terms that describe various kinds of body-centered practices and therapies.

In one way or another, most somatic methods aim to support the nervous system, in the moment and over time. They do this by encouraging us to practice conscious awareness and to focus our attention on breath and body sensation, in this present moment, over and over again.

This shift of attention from busy mind to body sensation, over and over again, rewires the nervous system and allows for the possibility of real, long-term change when you “practice” consistently over a continuous period of time. Whether you’re receiving hands-on therapies, doing a meditative and/or movement practice, and/or practicing co-regulation with another… if you’re doing it with awareness, you are doing a somatic practice and you are facilitating some kind of shift in the Self.

The nervous system is intricately connected with the rest of the body and it influences all aspects of the being in every moment.

How do I feel in my body? My mind?

How do I feel in life?

How do I feel in the world?

There are lots of ways to support the nervous system. I offer a range of somatic practices and therapies, and personalize each session just for you.

Whether you’re on vacation and want to come once, or you’re curious about regular sessions, check out my other pages and reach out if it feels right.
